  • ‘Enhanced’ PLAs have a bad reputation, some are no better than PLA, some perform worse in some conditions. We’ve taken a different approach: our ‘regular’ PLA is regarded as the strongest pure PLA in the industry, it’s hard to improve on the best. But sometimes you need something a little more durable. Enter our specially formulated PLA Plus. Prints like PLA, but with better durability.
  • Note: While not stronger or harder than our regular PLA, our PLA Plus is designed for applications where you need that enhanced durability, or even a little flex over standard PLA. This is a very tough PLA, it will never snap or shatter* – it will just eventually slowly deform. *Not tested in -0°C conditions.
  • Like a pearlescent sheen to your prints? Our PLA Plus colours have a beautiful sheen to them, which catches the light unlike any other filament. Check out the photos in the reviews below to see what we mean.
  • As with all rigid.ink filaments, our pure resin formula contains no nasty contaminants that lurk to block your nozzle at any moment. Your rigid.ink is also extruded to industry leading tight tolerances: this ensures consistent layers, giving uniform strength through your print and nicely finished layer lines. We guarantee 100% reliable printing. Every. Single. Time.
  • Any issues with your order or printing setup? We’ve got you covered. Our friendly, efficient and knowledgeable technical support team are on hand to get you back on track.
PLA Plus+ 1.75mm 3D Printer Filament

Description

PLA Plus 1.75 Filament

Please note the following colour name changes (18.07.18):
Red = Flash Red
Blue = Bright Blue
Green = Lime Green
Yellow = Light Yellow

The names have changed but the colours have not, so you can continue to order the same vibrant colours you have previously.

What is PLA Plus?

PLA Plus is an enhanced version of our PLA that's less brittle and more durable.

Please note: If you're simply looking for the strongest PLA on the market, you may be better suited to our 'regular' PLA here (though there's nothing 'regular' about our PLA).

PLA Plus is for applications where good vibration absorption and a lower fracture rate is needed.

*NOTE: Some printers do prefer lower temperatures for rigid.ink PLA Plus+ 200-210°C, bed temp 40°C. If your test print is looking a little too runny and the layers aren't cooling enough try lowering your temperatures.

Why rigid.ink?

We became so tired of the hordes of terrible quality PLA 3D printer filaments flooding the market, we decided to release our own. You need a PLA filament you can rely on, something that won't ever jam your head and produce flawless prints, every time.

Accurately represented colours, near-perfect tolerances and excellent raw material quality was our aim. It wasn't easy, but we're confident we've produced a 3D printer filament to be proud of. In fact, we'd be surprised if you found better.

Especially for this price.

Using the most technologically advanced equipment and the finest raw materials, we produce a consistent filament with a tolerance of just 0.03mm either side of the 1.75mm diameter we promise. We know it's good, we test it thoroughly with lasers.

Don't feel like committing to a whole KG roll?

No worries, we even sell lengths of our PLA filament in multiples of just 10 meters, allowing you to try out a range of colours at a fraction of the price. The colours you see in the images are the exact colour you'll receive. We may not have the biggest selection of colours (more coming soon!) but they won't disappoint.

Sure the quality is amazing, but what about the service?

It's fashionable to say you give great service, but ours really is second to non. Seriously, not happy with your purchase in any way? Let us know, we'll bend over backwards to help you out. So why wait, order from just 10 meters or 1KG of rigid.ink today and start printing something amazing.

We even do free UK mainland delivery on orders over 65.00 GBP.

Works with pretty much all filament based 3D printers, our spool size is - 20cm dia, 7cm width, 5.6cm dia spool hole.

Please note a different pigment is being used for the black from February 2017 onwards.

We do not hold Food Safety Certificates. Some of the raw materials used to produce our filaments are food safe accordingly to European regulations, but our filament in it's final form is not officially approved. Neither is the 3D printing process and all the components of 3D printers.

Top quality filament

This is some of the best filament I have used on my printer

Fantastic filament and service

I have been playing around with 3D printing for a while and have two cheap printers, a CTC and a CR10. I got the RI PLA+ to get some better strenght in some parts and what a filament it turned out to be! Easy to print and very good overall performance. I am extremely pleased with the service and delivery times even though I live in Sweden, shipment cost could always be lower but its not a big deal when the product performs as the Rigid Ink filaments does. I have also used the Nylon 12 and PET-G from RI. Tougher to dial in and get the right settings but when you are their the results are fantastic. Big thumbs up from me! Keep up the good work!

Excellent

I'm a 3D newbie but, with only a bit of fiddling with retraction and so on, have managed to get excellent prints with my PLA+ on my CR-10 (I'm using 3DLac as an adhesive on my glass build plate (at 55 degrees), which sticks really well: just pop the plate in the fridge at the end if it's actually stuck *so* well you can't get it off . . .). The filament does seem more resilient than standard PLA, which is exactly what I wanted. I'm onto my third spool now and it's still going great. Good effort from Rigid Ink.

1.75mm PLA Plus+

I have been 3D printing for around 2 years now and have found it to be very engaging. I am a retired engineer and needed something that would allow me to continue designing and making things in my home office now that I no longer do it professionally. I have an Ultimaker 2+ Extended printer along with a recently purchased Creality CR10S which gives a little more capacity. I first purchased PLA Plus+ in the 1.75mm size a few weeks ago, for use on the CR10, and I have to say I have found it to be a fantastic product. I purchase most of my material from Rigid and thought I would give this a try, even though it is a little more expensive that the Standard material. I was initially a little concerned about the CR10 as it was very competitively priced, but I should not have worried as it is superb for the price. From the very first print using PLA Plus I was really pleased with the output. I have now printed several items for my CR10. I found that the spool holder was not very stable and tipped it up sideways a few times during prints. I downloaded and printed the Mega Spool Holder from Thingiverse, which is brilliant! This now sits alongside my control box. I then designed and printed a simple twin roller extender which fits to the top of the Box, fixed in the holes provided for the CR10 Filament guide. This resulted in a truly brilliant setup which guides the fílament no matter the vertical position of the CR10 print head, from bed to 400mm up, without tipping anything up! The prints from the PLA Plus have been superb. The bed and layer adhesion, along with surface finish, has proved to be fantastic. I will be using this now, despite the slight cost variation, as I have not has a single failed or flawed print since I loaded it. Great product Rigid Ink, well done!

Strong, rubbery

this filament is a lot more rubbery than normal PLA. Kind of 90% normal PLA, 10% PLA FLEX. It seems to print pretty strong, but has a tendency while heated to shrink back into the extruder after it has been stretched, and can cause small voids in the print. Jury still out on if this is better than usual PLA, but it is certainly an interesting variation.
